As of now people with a good idea in the field of sustainable energy can go to Incubator Duurzame Energie Alkmaar (IDEA) for the realisation of a concept and develop an independent company. IDEA is established in the Inholland building (educational institute) in Alkmaar and has the goal to support innovative startups in the area of energy.
Wind turbines, tidal energy, houses that produce more energy than consume. Produce gas and oil from garbage, but also from plastics, cosmetics and food. This all fits a new economy in which sustainability asks for new markets and new products. The companies that together form IDEA, want to speed up developments by linking the ‘diamant pentagon’, which are entrepreneurs, education, research, government and the region.
